Academic Year 2026/2027 - Call for Applications Notice
Note: This course is taught exclusively in Portuguese.
Applications for the Master's in Educational Sciences are open to:
- Holders of a bachelor's degree or legally equivalent qualification obtained in Portugal.
- Holders of a bachelor's degree or legally equivalent qualification obtained abroad, after recognition by the Scientific Council of the Faculty of Education and Psychology of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa as meeting the requirements of a bachelor’s degree (solely for the purpose of applying to this study cycle).
- Candidates with an academic, scientific, or professional curriculum recognized by the Scientific Council of the Faculty of Education and Psychology of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa as attesting the ability to undertake this study cycle (solely for the purpose of applying to this study cycle).

The opening of applications for each phase depends on the remaining places from the previous one.
The School reserves the right to set a minimum grade requirement for admission in each phase, depending on the quality of the candidates' results.
Number of places: Master's in Educational Sciences: 40 (for both specialization areas)
The opening of each specialization area depends on a minimum number of confirmed registrations.
Photocopy of identification document;
- Curriculum Vitae (including reference to published works or other properly documented materials);
- Official certificate of completion of Bachelor's degree* (including list of completed courses, grades, ECTS and final grade);
- Authenticated proof of professional qualifications (biographical record);
- Form for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) – if applicable.
If you have not yet completed your bachelor's degree or have completed it but do not yet have the final certificate, you must replace the degree certificate with proof of completed curricular units (if you do not have an officially validated document, you may submit information taken from your student portal at your home university), as well as submit one of the following signed declarations:
- Declaration of Honour – candidates without a completed bachelor's degree
- Declaration of Honour – candidates with completed bachelor's degree but without certificate
*NOTES: Documents issued in other countries must be legalised by a Portuguese diplomatic or consular authority in the issuing country, or carry the Hague Apostille. If documents are written in a language other than Spanish, English, French, or Italian, a certified translation must be submitted in accordance with the provisions of notarial law.

Your admission will only be considered valid after the payment of the respective fee has been confirmed by UCP, so you should make your payment according to the ATM references(for Portuguese bank accounts) or the bank data (international bank transfers) indicated in the final admission information.

The application fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.
The results will be published on a digital platform with restricted access to candidates, who will receive the credentials and access link by email, on a date close to their publication.
Enrollment information will be sent to admitted candidates after the results are published. The following documents will be required for this process:
- Passport-style photograph (*.JPG, *.PNG or *.GIF)
- Copy of the vaccination record proving tetanus vaccination (only the relevant page)
- Information requested by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education (RAIDES questionnaire)
- Enrollment form and other specific documents to be indicated at the time of admission
- Proof of payment of the enrollment fee and the first monthly tuition fee (payment details will be provided in the communication granting access to the enrollment platform)
Failure to complete the enrollment within the stipulated period will be considered as withdrawal by the candidate.
Original academic qualification documents must be presented before the start of classes, at a date and time to be defined by the Academic Services.
