Graduates from different scientific fields may apply for the Master’s programmes at Católica Porto Business School.

The application process for the Master’s programmes at Católica Porto Business School, Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Porto, must include elements that demonstrate the academic and scientific competence of the candidates, as well as proficiency in the English language. Taking the GMAT is considered a valuable component in the selection process when assessing academic and scientific competencies.

Candidates will be selected based on the following criteria:

  • Academic and scientific background
  • Undergraduate degree final classification
  • Professional or research experience

Opening of applications in each phase is subject to the availability of places from the previous phase. International candidates who require a visa are strongly advised to apply as early as possible so that, if admitted, they have sufficient time to complete all necessary formalities.

Application Process Requirements

  • Scanned copy of identification document
  • Curriculum Vitae (in the school’s standard format)
  • Two letters of reference (optional for current/former CPBS students)
  • Diploma / Academic certificate and diploma supplement or transcript* listing completed courses, grades obtained, ECTS/total hours, final GPA, and the grading scale with minimum and maximum values for passing (mandatory for applicants who completed their degree outside UCP Porto).
  • If you have not yet completed your undergraduate degree, you must instead submit an official transcript showing completed courses, respective grades and ECTS, current average grade, and a sworn statement indicating expected graduation date and estimated final GPA.
  • Form for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) – if applicable
  • Optional documents that may strengthen your application:
    • Official English language certificate at level B2 or higher according to The Council of Europe’s Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (or equivalent, e.g., TOEFL, IELTS, FCE or CAE)
    • Other complementary evaluation materials (e.g., GMAT, etc.)

*Additional information for candidates who graduated abroad

  • If your undergraduate degree was obtained in a country that did not adopt the Bologna Process, your transcript must indicate the total number of hours per course instead of ECTS.
  • Documents written in languages other than Spanish, English, French, or Italian must be accompanied by a certified translation. For degree certificates, the translation must comply with notarial law.
  • Candidates with foreign degrees must submit their certificate: a) legalized by the Portuguese diplomatic or consular authority in the issuing country, or b) bearing the Apostille of The Hague if the issuing country is a party to the Convention Abolishing the Requirement of Legalisation for Foreign Public Documents (Hague Convention).

Your application will only be valid after the respective payment has been confirmed by UCP. You must make the payment using the Multibanco references provided in the final application summary.
Please refer to the Fees and Tuition section for information about application fees, registration fees, tuition, and other payment-related details.

The results will be published on a digital platform accessible only to applicants, who will receive their login credentials and access link via email near the publication date (see step ❷). Results will be presented with one of the following designations:

  • “Admitted” – if the applicant is accepted without any condition
  • “Conditionally Admitted” – admission depends on the completion of the undergraduate degree with the indicated final grade, and submission of the supporting documents by the stipulated date
  • "Forwarded to the next phase" – the application will be assessed in the next phase on equal terms with new applicants in that phase
  • “Not Admitted”

Only candidates with the status Admitted or Conditionally Admitted may proceed to step ❼ (Enrollment).

Admitted or conditionally admitted candidates will receive an email with information regarding the enrollment procedure and payment details. For enrollment, the following elements are required:

  • Passport-size photograph (*.JPG, *.PNG or *.GIF)
  • Copy of the vaccination record to confirm tetanus vaccination (only the page related to this record)
  • Information required by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education (RAIDES survey – template to be provided at enrollment)
  • Enrollment form and other specific documents indicated at the time of admission
  • Proof of payment of the enrollment fee and first monthly tuition installment (payment details will be provided in the email granting access to the enrollment platform)

Failure to submit the degree certificate by the stipulated date will result in the cancellation of the enrollment. A student who has not completed the undergraduate degree does not meet the necessary requirements and will not be allowed to attend the Master's programme.

Original academic certification documents, duly legalized or with Hague Apostille if issued abroad, must be presented before the start of classes, on a date and time to be defined by the Academic Services.

It will be assumed that the candidate has withdrawn if enrollment is not completed within the established deadline.
