The following may apply for the PhD in Science and Technology of the Arts:
a) Holders of a master’s degree or legal equivalent obtained in Portugal.
b) Holders of a master’s degree or legal equivalent obtained abroad, after recognition by the Scientific Council of the School of Arts of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa as meeting the objectives of a master's degree (solely for the purposes of application to this study cycle).
c) Holders of a bachelor's degree with a minimum final grade of 16 (out of 20), who possess an especially relevant academic, scientific or professional curriculum, recognized by the Scientific Council of the School of Arts of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa as commendable and assuring of the candidate's competence to undertake the Doctoral Program.

The opening of the 2nd and 3rd application phases depends on the number of remaining places from the previous phase.

Copy of identification document
Curriculum Vitae, including references to published works or other duly documented outputs;
Academic degree certificate (original or certified copy), indicating the final grade.
Motivation letter indicating research interests;
2 Letters of Recommendation
Documents issued in other countries must be legalized by the Portuguese diplomatic or consular authorities in the issuing country, or bear the Hague Apostille, except if issued in the United Kingdom, EU countries, or countries belonging to the European Economic Area or the European Free Trade Association.
When documents are written in a foreign language other than Spanish, English or French, a corresponding translation must be submitted, carried out in accordance with the requirements of notarial law.

Your application will only be considered valid after the respective fee payment has been confirmed by UCP. Therefore, you must make the payment using the ATM references (for Portuguese bank accounts) or the bank data (international bank transfers) provided in the final admission information, and send proof of payment to (candidaturas.porto@ucp.pt).

The application fee is non-refundable.
The results will be published on a digital platform with restricted access for applicants, who will receive the access credentials and link by email close to the publication date.
Enrollment information will be sent to admitted candidates after the publication of the results. For this process, the following documents will be required:
Passport-style photograph
Copy of the vaccination record to confirm tetanus vaccination (only the relevant page)
Information required by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education (RAIDES questionnaire)
Enrollment form and other specific documents to be indicated at the time of admission
Proof of payment of the enrollment fee and first monthly tuition installment (payment methods will be provided when access to the enrollment platform is communicated).
Failure to enroll within the established deadline will be considered as withdrawal by the candidate.
The originals of previously submitted documents (degree certificate and other documents) must be presented before the beginning of classes, on a date and time to be defined by the Academic Services.
