The following holders are eligible to apply for this course (alternatively):

  • A bachelor's degree in biological sciences, medical sciences, biotechnology, physics, mathematics, or various fields of engineering, or a legally equivalent qualification obtained in Portugal;
  • A foreign higher education degree in biological sciences, medical sciences, biotechnology, physics, mathematics, or various fields of engineering, recognized as meeting the objectives of a bachelor's degree by the Scientific Council of the School of Biotechnology;
  • An academic, scientific, or professional curriculum recognized as demonstrating the capacity to complete the postgraduate programme by the Scientific Council of the School of Biotechnology.

The opening of the 2nd and 3rd phases depends on the number of remaining vacancies from the previous phase.

The opening of the Postgraduate programme is subject to a minimum number of enrolments.

  • Bachelor's Degree Certificate (detailed, indicating courses, grades obtained, ECTS credits, and final classification) – Only for degree holders external to UCP.

  • Copy of identification document

  • Curriculum Vitae

  • Form for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) – if applicable

Documents issued in other countries must be legalized by a Portuguese diplomatic or consular authority in the issuing country or bear the Hague Apostille.

When documents are written in a foreign language other than Spanish, English, French, or Italian, a certified translation must be provided according to notarial law.

Your application will only be valid after the respective fee payment has been confirmed by UCP, so you must make the payment according to the Multibanco references provided in the final application information.

Please refer to the Fees and Tuition section for information on application, enrolment, and tuition fees, as well as other payment-related details.

The results will be published on a digital platform with restricted access for applicants, who will receive credentials and an access link by email close to the publication date. The results will be presented with one of the following designations:

  • Admitted” – if the applicant is admitted without any conditions

  • Conditionally Admitted” – admission depends on completion of the bachelor's degree and submission of the respective supporting documents by the stipulated date

  • Deferred to the Next Phase” – the applicant will be evaluated in the next phase on equal terms with new candidates appearing in that phase

  • Not Admitted

Only admitted candidates may proceed with enrolment.

Enrollment information will be sent to admitted candidates after the publication of results. For this process, the following documentation will be required:

  • Passport-style photograph (*.JPG, *.PNG, or *.GIF)

  • Copy of vaccination record to prove tetanus vaccination (only the page related to this record)

  • Information requested by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education (RAIDES survey)

  • Enrollment form and other specific documents to be indicated at the time of admission

  • Proof of payment of the enrollment fee and first monthly installment (payment methods will be communicated when access to the enrollment platform is granted)

Failure to formalize enrollment within the stipulated deadline will be considered a withdrawal by the candidate.
