To apply, you must meet the following conditions:
- Have Portuguese nationality or that of a European Union country[1]
- Have completed secondary education in Portugal, or foreign secondary education in Portugal or another country[2]
- Have successfully completed one of the following sets of national exams in 2026, 2025, 2024, 2023, or 2022[3]
- (18) Portuguese + (06) Philosophy OR
- (18) Portuguese + (11) History OR
- (18) Portuguese + (16) Mathematics OR
- (06) Philosophy + (11) History OR
- (06) Philosophy + (16) Mathematics OR
- (11) History + (16) Mathematics
OR equivalent exams as part of the foreign diploma within the same period[2]

Application score (for ranking purposes): 50% of the secondary education diploma’s grade + 50% of the final exams (25% each exam). Minimum total application grade of 100.0 points (in a 0 to 200 grading scale).
The Faculty of Law reserves the right to set a higher minimum admission score than 100 points in each phase, depending on the quality of applicants’ results.

Possibility of allocation to Evening Schedule
Candidates will be ranked according to their application score. Once the daytime places are filled, candidates will be allocated to the evening schedule. Students enrolled in the evening schedule may request a transfer to the daytime schedule (according to order of admission) if vacancies become available due to withdrawals.
- One of the following documents depending on whether you completed Portuguese (a) or foreign (b) secondary education:
(a) If you completed Portuguese secondary education – ENES Form (National Secondary Education Exams), which must be issued in 2026 (request it from your secondary school)[1]
(b) If you completed foreign secondary education, in Portugal or another country – Diploma certifying completion of foreign secondary education[2] (indicating the final grade and each exam taken) AND Certificate of equivalence to Portuguese secondary education[3]
- Copy of identification document;
- Application form for special quota places (if applicable);
- Form for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) – if applicable
[1] In the 1st application phase, only the results from the 1st phase of national exams will be considered for calculating the application grade.

Applicants from foreign secondary education in Portugal
Applicants from foreign secondary education in Portugal whose results are only available after the 1st and/or 2nd application calls should contact: admissions.porto@ucp.pt.
Applications must be submitted through the UCP Porto online application platform. Please ensure that the applications are open before starting the process. You will be required to upload scanned copies of the documents listed above during the application process, so make sure to prepare them in advance.
If you submit your application before the national exam results are released, you may submit it without the ENES Form, but it must be sent later, scanned by email (to candidaturas.porto@ucp.pt), no later than the deadline for each application call.
Changes to the application after submission
Any changes you wish to make to your application after submission on the platform (such as adding a course from the same faculty, attaching the ENES form or other documents, or correcting any information), must be requested via email to candidaturas.porto@ucp.pt, attaching the updated documents and indicating your full name and candidate number.

To apply, you must cumulatively meet the following conditions:
- Be currently or have previously been enrolled in a higher education course at a higher education institution (national or international), provided that the admission took place in academic years prior to the one of the application. Approval in course units is not required for eligibility.
- Have successfully completed (minimum score of 95) one of the following sets of national exams in any year:

This admission pathway is intended for Portuguese citizens or nationals of a European Union country who cumulatively:
- Are at least 23 years old by December 31, 2025
- Do not hold a qualification granting access to higher education[1]
[1] The student does not acquire higher education access qualification if:
- They have not completed secondary education; or
- They have completed secondary education but do not have valid entrance exams (which are valid in the year taken and the two following years)
The legal framework governing access to higher education for applicants over 23 years old does not prohibit students who have previously attended university or hold a degree from applying under this regime.
Candidates must take a written exam designed to assess minimum requirements in logical reasoning and written expression.
The exam is eliminatory and only aims to evaluate the candidate's ability to express themselves in Portuguese. No specific knowledge—whether in Law or any other field—is required or assessed. The exam lasts one hour, and the final score is given on a 0 to 20 scale.
Candidates who are unable to produce a structured and coherent text or who demonstrate a lack of basic knowledge of the Portuguese language will be considered unfit.
