This admission pathway is intended for Portuguese citizens or nationals of a European Union country who cumulatively:

  • Are at least 23 years old by December 31, 2025
  • Do not hold a qualification granting access to higher education[1]

[1] The student does not acquire higher education access qualification if:

  • They have not completed secondary education; or
  • They have completed secondary education but do not have valid entrance exams (which are valid in the year taken and the two following years)

The legal framework governing access to higher education for applicants over 23 years old does not prohibit students who have previously attended university or hold a degree from applying under this regime.

Candidates must take a written exam designed to assess minimum requirements in logical reasoning and written expression.

The exam is eliminatory and only aims to evaluate the candidate's ability to express themselves in Portuguese. No specific knowledge—whether in Law or any other field—is required or assessed. The exam lasts one hour, and the final score is given on a 0 to 20 scale.

Candidates who are unable to produce a structured and coherent text or who demonstrate a lack of basic knowledge of the Portuguese language will be considered unfit.
